18 YEAR OLD JUMPS OFF CRUISE SHIP ON A DARE, THE SEARCH HAS BEEN SUSPENDED
Very sad. Stupid acts come at a price. Maybe judgement impaired by alcohol ?
More on the story:
The U.S. Coast Guard has ended their search for a Louisiana teenager who went overboard during a sunset cruise in the Bahamas on Wednesday night.
Cameron Robbins, 18, from Louisiana, was on a graduate boating excursion in the Bahamas on May 24 when he was dared to jump overboard, according to witnesses.
The teen, who had just graduated days ago from the University Laboratory School in Baton Rogue, was filmed floating in the water, just a few feet from the boat, before disappearing. Theories surround whether it was a shark or the current that pulled him under.
“U.S. Coast Guard District Seven deployed multiple search and rescue assets in response to an agency assistance request from our partners in the Royal Bahamas Defence Force. Our Coast Guard command centre and aircrews based in Miami supported RBDF search and rescue efforts since the initial report Wednesday evening, and continued through Friday evening. We were informed by the RBDF this evening that they were suspending the active search efforts pending further developments, and were not requesting further Coast Guard assistance after notifying the Robbins family.”

I was watching Better Batchelor's version of this, and he pointed out in the top left of the video you can see for a second or two, that there is a shark in the water... between him and the life buoy, which (probably) accounts for him swimming away from the buoy and towards the back of the boat.....
AND BB also pointed out that this is not some massive cruise ship, it's like a BIG inter-island touristy events small ship / huge boat...
To Better Bathelor:
Good call on the "relative motion" - of the life buoy in the water - and the boats "non existent" forward speed.
Basically the boat was stationary - and so aside from SOME spot light and normal visual / close range binocular viewing, if the kid has gone missing between jumping into the water and getting to a ladder on the side or rear of the boat, and trying to get out, he's GONE - he has been eaten by the shark/s.... So doing some bullshit HUGE search pattern - was a fucking waste of time.
He went missing from a stationary boat, and the search area, would have been the size of an average back yard.... nothing more.

Here's a somewhat of a funny joke.
What did the shark say to the dumb jock who jumped into his territory?
GET IN MY BELLY!!!!
It would have been so cool if they added the theme song "JAWS" just to fit the moment.
Anywho....Buh Buye fuckwad. You wont be missed because you did a dare just to get cool points and a shot at fresh pussy.
You get Neither....NEXT!!!!
I was thinking about this kid on the way home from hospital and some thoughts came to mind.
a) It was an extremely dangerous thing to do - and really fucking stupid actually.
b) And the ramifications of it turned out to be fatal - unsurprisingly.
But as much of an idiot this kid is / was, he WAS someone's son, brother, friend etc.,
And there is stupid brainless shit and also stupid shit, born from a lack of experience.
Sometimes it might be hard to tell the difference - but regardless, of all those kids on that trip - they will all remember that IDIOT kid, who jumped off a perfectly good floating cruise ship, into the ocean and was never seen again.
Powerful stuff.
Maybe they might be MORE mindful of boating safety and having life jackets on all boats, fire extinguishers, distress beacons, REFLECTIVE clothing - that can be seen for MILES - with search lights, flares, strobe lights, etc., instead of brainless cunts doing stupid things and endorsing people to do stupid things.
But had of he been found out in the dark of the night, some 6 hours after jumping ship - the wisdom from such an awe inspiring experience - would have been worthwhile....
So would the rescue bill.......
His dickhead friends, who encouraged him to jump ship - however deserve a beating too..... a really bad beating.
He gets the Forest Gump Award for stupidity
