2023.04.19 Avoiding Thucydides Trap?

Thank you for posting this perspective, seems a plausible strategy from the neocon's to avoid a losing war. I hope this is true. My spitball opinion is this, first avoiding Thucydides Trap seems like the maneuvers of a very thoughtful chess opponent, but seems counter to everything here since 2001.

How does someone with this type psychopathy revert into a subordinate position? I can't see anything but a jumbled decoupling world mess in that outcome for the U.S. which would absolutely destroy any spirits if they have them. Imagine trying this outcome if you were a narcissist with anger management issues? hmmm.

I don't see this group capable of withstanding this agreement longterm psychologically without an outlet. So what would allow this psychopathy to continue? perhaps a strategy to destroy those they now despise/hate with the use of a thousand cuts and subversive tactics to rack small wins to continue a self perceived prestigious ego value?

Maybe they can exit in a deal? Selling off their inflated shares to the next in line, passing the buck so to say, or take the subversive L? Continue to bleed every last cent from the country in one last military industrial complex cash grab and bail? Or come to an agreement like the one presented here..

If this is the way, so be it, better than insta-death besides we are already used to a group of people who will look to attack, subvert and justify actions around the world from a false moral high-ground for the masses. But play that hand over time and it becomes more likely some coalition will absolutely stomp you out while your on the ground gasping for air.
I also think it could be a plausible strategy especially if you really never had the best intentions for the country and really couldn't give a shit because as long as your self inflated ego remains protected and intact you could very easily just detach from the host without a care!
The parasites here, have left the people without any outcomes here that are honorable or "clean".
If you Never stopped preparing it'll be a lot easier to accept...
