Similar situation in the AF when I built a program, but they "fired" me 90% thru the development and then handed it off to my female cow-orkers to finish it off and get the credit. About three months later it broke down and none of the women knew how to fix it. They wanted me back, but I'd "lost" the ability to code in that program--I suggested they get their award-winning females on the job and walked away. Caught all kinds of "not a team player" hell for that, but by that point I was already on my way out.
