I learned through what happened to my late father. I'm sure he though he did his due diligence regarding my mother. Though my mother wasn't a single mother when they married back in the mid '50s, she was the eldest of three, who were all born out of wedlock, and... all three from different fathers. Overall, she wasn't a "bad" mother (seven kids will keep you busy), and she kept us busy with reading various books, on top of our catholic school homework (catholic schools back in the '60s didn't play, when it came to schoolwork), which when looking back, was a good thing; kept us out of trouble, along with my father's Biblical discipline (Prov. 22:6, 15). My father WASN'T catholic, btw; no (organized) religious background.
Unfortunately, feminism was making headway in the "Communita", and more divorces were taking place, as the black women (much like today) sold out to LBJ's bullsh!t policies, which, in his words, "would have every nigger voting Democrat for the next 50yrs" (it'll be closer to 70, but who's counting). My mother was no different, especially since she never knew her father, and was slowly becoming more bitter towards her mother, AND my father, since he was a hard working man, and a good provider, AND (IMO) a good father. He never ran away, in spite of my mother's bitterness, though she tried to drive him away. As I look back now, it seems she started drinking the feminist kool-aid roughly 8-10yrs into their marriage, about '65/'66. Maybe she drank it as a kid, but came out when they married. Ironically, my father was showing us kids how liberalism was hurting our "communita" by taking two of my brothers (10 and 4yrs old) and me (8yrs old) to a Jessie Jackson rally (back in '67, his race hustling scheme was called Operation Breadbasket) on the South Side (I'm a native Chicagoan), showing us how crooked Jackson was, while the rest of the crowd is hootin' and hollerin'. To this day I hope Jackson, Sharpton and most black preachers, BURN IN HELL.
Of course every chance she got, she started pushing his buttons, becoming more argumentative and rebellious (imo). Of course he finally had enough, and retaliated. Now she could tell everyone how "violent" he is; the same sh!t many waahmen pull today. They got divorced after 18yrs (on paper) of marriage (of course she got the house, which he lost 6yrs after buying it), but he was determined to teach his children the right way, and for that I'll always respect him. I'm sure my father thought he did his due diligence, but you just never know. What I learned, is the catholic church (along with her protestant harlot daughters) is as crooked a religion that exists on earth. It truly is, the synagogue of Satan. I also learned, after years of single life, that Monk mode is the best mode (for me).
