Yeah funny about that... Having crashed a bike at 170 Kmh and cracked the side in on a fiberglass full face helmet, I know figure that on a bicycle with my head around 2 meters above the ground, that a slow fall at even 20 Kmh onto hard things like concrete, bitumen and cars etc., is enough to crack your head open / brain damage / death....
Well with gravity, at an acceleration rate of 9.8 meters per second squared, well after 2 meters of fall your head is going about 23 Kmh straight down and that is not THAT fast but it is fast enough, and if you land in water, it's nothing, but if you land on a hard surface, and your head comes to a dead stop, your head can break - as in a fractured skull, internal bleeding and concussion etc..
And since the difference between pedalling along and being dead can only take a moment, I am a big champion of wearing bicycle helmets etc.
And on a motorbike I am a HUGE champion of wearing ALL the protective gear, boots, knee pads, hip pads, elbow pads, jacket, kevlar reinforced jeans, full face helmet and better than average gloves.
And it's better to get there 10 minutes too late than not at all.
Patience Grass Hopper, Patience.
This shows how important gloves are even on electric mopeds.
