It tastes sweeter after you refrigerate it, and the dough stiffens up in the fridge and improves the texture. I did the same thing when mine arrived, I tasted it while warm, but after it spent a night in the fridge I was very pleasantly surprised.

I ordered some from armor as well, my opinion differs from yours, I didn't think they were sweet enough for my tastes, I'm also not a huge fan of nuts in my pastry items, maybe that's why the sweetness was taken out, I don't know I had them for the first time too when I made that order, they just weren't for me.

I'm also not a big fan of folio dough, I think it's too tough to chew.

For someone who has been kind of on a no sugar diet for over the last year, and staying away from stuff like this, I was hoping it was going to be a lot sweeter and more soft to bite into.

And the price point was way too much for what was on offer.

I'm also a white guy, I suppose I'm too used to American desserts, not saying it tasted terrible or anything, it did taste good, it just was kind of weak and the sweet flavor, meaning it didn't exactly hit the sweet tooth.

I will def re-order if you get the product down to around the $25 - $28 price point. Definitely perfect for social events and family functions.

The purchase price plus air mail x the US to Au of $1 US x 1.6 conversion rate = $Au - means I am looking at about $130 - $150 delivered, No one around here makes it.... within a 150 K radius.... Go to Aldi etc., and get the bulk nuts, Filo pastry and honey... I will reverse engineer from Amr's ingredient list - verbal - and cross check with other recipes (print) and come up with something that will be good too. The great thing about cooking - is that there is no "One True Recipe" - AND there is sort of generally along these lines..... and different people make things differently with different tastes and ingredients... Sometimes on the basis of what is available.... So if Aldi is out of X nuts or Y nuts, then I can always substitute with peanuts or walnuts.... However the really SALTY Iranian Pistachios - I haven't seen them in Australia for a LONG time - and they were fucking fantastic. I think I can come up with something pretty fucking good too.... Amr's cooking looks REAL good...
