This hit home with me as David starts out talking about the assassination attempt, then by the end gets into what the new normal is for the young growing up now. When I was young, famous and important people being killed was the normal. I was born almost 1 year to the day after JFK was assassinated, so I would hear about it when the anniversary of it came about every year at my birthday. And then as a young boy Martin Luther King got shot, RFK, got shot, Malcom X, Wallace, Charles de Gaulle dodged many attempts, President Ford got shot at, Anwar Sadat got shot, John Lennon shot, Reagan survived getting shot. I remember telling someone several years ago that that was the normal for me growing up.
