Most programmers fear that they will lose their programming skills if they change directions in their life. What if they forget everything about coding and programming? What if they try to turn their career around but, in the middle, they forget about programming languages, frameworks, etc?

Well, although this is a common fear, I suggest that you take a step back and don't worry about that. Forget everything you know about programming is difficult, especially if you're an experienced programmer.
