Aluminum prices shot up 7% in one day amid reports that the US is considering a ban on imports of the metal from Russia. The London Metal Exchange, the world’s largest market, is considering banning Russian metals from being traded and stored at its facilities. Meanwhile, one week ago, reports surfaced that Rusal, Moscow’s leading aluminum producer, was looking to sell some of its products directly to the Exchange.
