One of my friends many years ago was a signalman in a signal box - I never knew these were such complex systems..... I knew he had a lot to do and think about and remember...

Not so much complex in the control of the system, but HOW they were integrated systems with lots of checks and balances and interactive mechanical components. Sort of like locking mechanisms and clock work...

Ahhhhhhh 14:49 - two trains having a collision inside a tunnel.... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh --- The modern trains "telescope" where one big long tube or carriage, goes through the guts of the carriage it runs into - There was a UK tube train and a USA new york subway train it both happened too....
