Blinken makes claims about US leadership, while more and more countries aim to join BRICS

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has justified Washington's stance on diplomacy from a position of strength, citing the threat of authoritarian regimes in the post-Cold War era. Meanwhile, around 40 countries have expressed their desire to join the BRICS group of states, with a NATO member – Türkiye – expressing an interest in the organization. A recent poll showed only 35% of Europeans believe that America will be the most influential global player in five years.
