Clashes erupt in Paris amid nationwide riots over fatal police shooting of teen

Scuffles erupted between police and protesters at the Place de la Concorde in the French capital on Friday and later in the day at Place au Chatelet, after a teenage driver was shot and killed during a police traffic stop earlier in the week.

Violent protests have been ongoing across France in recent days. 40,000 officers were deployed nationwide in an attempt to quell the rioting while media outlets reported that over 800 people had been arrested.
