Cop chases shoplifter on horseback
A daring thief was spotted leaving an Albuquerque, New Mexico Walgreens with a bag full of ill-gotten gains, but was spotted by staff, who called the only law in town (which is the police, obviously). The ne’er-do-well tried to run away with his tail between his legs and also $230 worth of stolen goods. However, the law had something else between his legs: a horse.
It is normally at this point that your average thief would realize that outrunning a horse is a bad idea, especially when that horse is armed with a cop, and that cop is armed with a gun, but this is New Mexico, and they just do things differently down there. The inevitably short chase ended with lots of yelling as literal cavalry managed to not take a wrong turn at Albuquerque, while the hapless thief did – right into oncoming traffic. Having avoided being run over by both cars and, at this point, several mounted police, he decided to switch to a more old-fashioned tactic of yelling ‘it wasn’t me.’ Won’t work, that horse saw everything, pal.
