Joe Biden’s White House continues to insist it has little leverage over the Israeli government to bring a halt to the fighting in Gaza or Lebanon. This is obviously an absurd claim. At the same time, it appears that the US is prepared to let Netanyahu pursue a wider conflict, one which reaches to Lebanon and beyond.
