I suppose all observation and reason should be suspended in lieu of a peer reviewed paper? Those have never been deemed false or fraudulent before right? One of the biggest problems is a duplication crisis where people in various fields are often failing to reproduce the findings reported in peer reviewed studies so it is not the be all end all. We must also observe the changing realities before us and use reason to arrive at conclusions as well which I think tfm does very well at, peer reviewed studies are not the only way to correlate various points of information.
