Seeing the cannons being fired in a practical way - is good.

What I found most interesting was the sound of the incoming and ricocheting rounds, from the camera, at the targets.

The Parrot cannon was a HUGE technological leap forward in terms of accuracy, because of the rifled barrels, but their composite construction of a cast iron liner and a wrought iron jacket, led to many failures of the barrels - caused by the cracking liner.

They were declared to be unsafe to use and were removed from service.

The guns in the video, I am assuming, are replicas, in style and shape, but of a different construction material and method.

How can something that deadly also be so beautiful? (I'm talking from an engineering point of view. I was bought up around engineering that's why I love MAN STUFF! lol!

No wonder cannon were so lethal against infantry and cavalry. It blew through that metal like it wasn't there

That steel sheet is plain low carbon steel, and it's about 2mm in thickness... You can cut that wagon in half with a hammer and cold chisel. https://amtechdiy.com/wp-conte....nt/uploads/A0500-15. https://amtechdiy.com/wp-conte....nt/uploads/G2610-13.

@Life_N_Times_of_Shane_T_Hanson: I was just picturing what it would do to massed infantry. It explains the casualty statistics of the Civil War.

@Councilof1: While it is not much compared to modern artillery - it's pretty damned dangerous... How many people would it go through in a straight line? 20? 30? 40 or 50 people? More?

@Councilof1: Have a look at these: https://www.mgtow.tv/v/GRhlNv AND this one with the Russian artillery after about 10 minutes 30 seconds. https://www.mgtow.tv/v/Dyc6PL

@Life_N_Times_of_Shane_T_Hanson: I've been watching Russian combat footage out of Ukraine. The TOS1 and TOS2 are crazy modern artillery.

@Councilof1: They are like BIG very high powered hunting / military rifles...... Fuck they shoot REALLY hard..... I have always been really impressed by them.
