Dramatic: People pulled from mudslide’s raging currents in Peru

Landslides triggered by steady rains brought mud, water and rocks into several villages in southern Peru, sweeping away everything in its path and killing at least 36. Some people were pulled out of the raging current in a dramatic rescue effort. Civil Defense officials said an estimated 630 homes were destroyed after the landslides, which also hit bridges, irrigation canals and roads.
