Dubai museum hires first humanoid staff member

A robot host with a wide spectrum of human emotions has been settling into their new job welcoming visitors to Dubai’s Museum of the Future. The robot, named Ameca, answers inquiries from visitors by employing artificial intelligence, can respond to waves and other gestures thanks to motion trackers, and can look surprised, happy, angry, or amused (and presumably grumpy on Monday mornings).

The museum is working to add a full staff of robot hosts to its venue, after collaborating with British company Engineered Arts to successfully bring Ameca to life
