Shields and batons - are only good in an extremely narrow range of use..... and outside of that - they are a total liability to be carrying and using......

Just push hard into them and hook their leg and over they go backwards....

Depending upon what pricks the riot squad has been, depends upon whether they merely cop a kicking or are killed out right by the incredibly hostile crowd they have been maiming and killing....

It's like the magician thing - "look at my hands - look at my hands" - as long as people are looking at the truncheon, instead of the combatant - then they are engaging with the cops beating stick - but as soon as they go straight in and INSIDE the swinging arc of the truncheon - then the truncheon and shield as a liability to be using and carrying....
