Ecuadorian police transfer top criminal leader to maximum security jail

About 4,000 police and military personnel participated in transferring one of Ecuador’s most notorious crime bosses to a maximum security prison. José Adolfo Macías, also known as Fito, is considered the leader of the criminal group Los Choneros. Murdered presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio had recently accused Macías of making threats against him.
