In it's own unique way, this is one of the most disturbing films ever made.
There is nothing "horror movie" about it at all.
The horror is oblique. It slides in silently sidewards. It comes not from watching the movie. It comes from having seen the movie.
A lot of people have come away from it, wanting to go for a few months Rest and Recreation, in a psych hospital.
This is interesting, because nothing much really happens in the movie.
It's the movie it's self, that is profoundly disturbing.

Spoiler Alert..... There is nothing really bad or scarey in the movie - it's the idea of being stuck in a nightmare that you can't wake up from... This is what I and a lot of other people were so rattled by... It's not the content of the movie, it's from having seen the movie.... Off the deep end affect...
