This is either true or it is bullshit.

Assuming that say 30% of the population were conned into taking this shit, then sitting at the cafe and turning on the bluetooth scan function should reveal a lot of people who were more than just plain lazy with keeping their phone blue tooth on, than could be accounted for laziness, ear buds and the like, and were in active and open tranceiving mode.
