Family Saved From Rio Grande River in Death-Defying Rescue

US Border Patrol agents rushed to the rescue when they encountered a family of Haitian migrants stranded in the middle of the Rio Grande River on Saturday.

The family, a five-year-old girl and her parents were attempting to cross the river and had almost reached the bank when the ground they were standing on collapsed, plunging them into deep water.

The guards leaped into action, managing to pull the mother and child from the water quickly, then braving the river once more to save the father, who needed emergency medical aid.

Miraculously, all three were later discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment; a lucky escape from a situation that could have ended in tragedy.
