I wouldn't get that close to a cop's back! They're carrying guns and afraid someone will try to grab them.

Fuel prices:

1.00 Mexican Peso = 0.05 US Dollar.
$1 US dollar = 1.53 Australian Dollars

The Equivalent Prices = $21 Pezos per liter = $1.05 US a liter = $1.61 Au a liter.

We are currently paying ~$2 a liter in Australia.

From what I've read Marida also has a large western expat community... Its probably highly gynocentric compared to other parts of Mexico. But good if you want a "cheaper" alternative to the west.
By the way that gas which costs $21 pesos per liter is about $3.94 per gallon in the USA.

@Longshanks: I once found an online dictionary / compendium of ALL the gauges, measures, quantities, etc., etc., etc., that have been in use for the last few hundred years - like the English mile - and the assorted cenuries, and the Irish mile, and so on and so forth - and the weights, measures and all that of the various guilds and business's and Jesus Fuck - The Welsh Precious Metals Guild and the Cornish Tin Mans Mining Association and all the variations of the quantity "Ounce" - I have it stored, but finding it again after such a time might be difficult.... And the Western Union Telegraph copper wire gauging assosciation, and the French Scientific Academy of Sciences - and their pre metric wire sizes... and a gauge size is not a measurement it's a ratio... So super fine hair like copper wire at 0.0028" is a number 14 gauge... Enough... horrible subject. Stick with metric.
