China has successfully launched two satellites into space from an offshore site aboard the Long March-11 carrier rocket for the first time.

This "mortar tube" launch is quite a good idea.
It works very well.
Unfortunately it is the same as an ICBM launcher - in one sense.
But this system - the secure sea launches - is much better than dropping rocket parts all over the countryside - where people live.
