Okay Millenial, you are misinformed about a number of things.

I am a Gen X-er. Born between 1960 and 1979. Our parents, the "Baby Boomers" came after World War II, their parents fought NAZIs. The Baby Boomers are also known as the "Me" generation. They created hippies, yuppies, Latchkey babysitting, No-Fault divorce, and "We" scholastic programs that gave everyone who went to school after 1989 a "participation trophy".

Gen X did make fun of Millenials for those trophies. The Boomers wanted a generation with high self-esteem, after ignoring their own Gen X children, so Boomers did everything for the Millenials. Spoiled you guys rotten. Now Millenials are so self absorbed, so afraid of failure, that you feel empty.

Gen X wanted the Internet to be free. We didn't want policing because that is all we got from the Baby Boomers. You wanna feel satisfied with your lives? You want meaning?

TASTE FAILURE!

Don't be afraid to fail. Question the authority of the world around you. Wallow in the things you like that keeps you from belonging to the group.

Gen X was the first generation to be forsaken by their parents, because the parents were too busy trying to stack up against the generation that DID DIE fighting for freedom against Nazi fascists.

You see every 10 years, the people who grow up and even breed, tends to do a worse job of what was done to them, so you can't expect to get interstellar performances from people who can't do it, and won't do it, and they figure it's your shit to sort out, they have enough to contend with in their own lives.....
