You say in school they never taught you about the War of 1812. I imagine it would be safe to assume they didn't teach you about the Communist Revolution in Russia of 1917. If that's the case, I HIGHLY recommend the following videos. They don't include anything specifically about the Soviet Revolution itself, there's plenty of resources for that elsewhere. Instead, these videos concern themselves with what came out of the failed experiment that was Communism and the ongoing attempt to turn America into a Communist nation:

A lecture given by Dr. Jordan Peterson which details the rise of post-modern neo-Marxism, its motives and methodologies, the psychology of its adherents, and the danger it poses in modern times. I know he's considered in some MGTOW circles verboten following his "MGTOW are pathetic weasels" comment (which he later retracted). Regardless, we're critical thinkers; we don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. If the man has something useful to say on the topic of neo-Marxism, we owe it to ourselves to listen and take what value from it we can.
Once you've watched all of those, you'll have a much clearer picture of why what is happening today is happening the way it is. You will see how much you've been lied to or - at the very least - how much the truth has been hidden from you.
