They can tell the difference between when your just passing, or are trying to turn them into 7 feet of sausage on a BBQ... It's a good video though, it's educational - you learn things.... And he tells people "trust your feelings" - "Yeah the snake is all right... just back away slowly... etc."..... When ever I come across them crossing the road, usually it's a black snake, and I try to avoid running them over - but when I pull over to admire them, they are pretty fast... and I don't know if you noticed it, but when they go into grass and all that that is like 20cm / 8" deep, they become almost invisible immediately... So as soon as they are off the road and into the grass - they are gone..... So going around them and applying the brakes and then reversing back up to where they crossed the road is kind of pointless.... But they are just beautiful...
