Germany refuses to pay reparations for genocide in Namibia in early 1900s

Namibia wants to renegotiate a deal reached with Germany last year, under which Berlin admitted responsibility for a historic genocide committed in its former colony between 1904 and 1908. However, the state refused to pay reparations for the atrocities but has offered a 30-year economic aid plan for the African country’s development, which was met with strong disapproval from the locals.
