In this NEW series historian Tino Struckmann will travel through time and visit many of the known and unknown forts, castles and fortresses that shaped the history of warfare.
The evolution of modern warfare from the stone castles to the Atlantic wall and hidden cold war underground forts. We will visit the places where key technological developments of warfare took place, from the first steel dome turret to the amazing star forts of Holland and Denmark.


We dive into the fortresses who fought and served in WW1 and WW2 and dispel many of the myths about those wars. The lessons learned from the Franco/Prussian wars and how they were implemented for the next war, and how lessons from WW1 was used to improve forts and bunker designs for WW2.
