Correction: New Mexico passed a law in 2021 essentially eliminating qualified immunity. Individual police officers CAN be sued now for violating someones rights. It's the primary reason cited by the Sheriff's office in New Mexico for stating why they wouldn't enforce the executive order; to shield their officers from prosecution (the fact it's a blatant violation of the Second Amendment being a lesser consideration; but we take what we can get, I guess).
