I walked out and stood at the street corner looking to see how many places put up Christmas decorations to participate in the tradition. Its not 5 percent anymore. This is a trend I have seen for 20 years. This tradition survived the dark ages, European Black Death and 2 world wars but the femons killed it in 20 years. Yes, it is the females as they used to carry on the tradition because they found it fun and enjoyed the spirit.
This tradition only comes for a few weeks and once a year and I am sad to see it go.
