Hard work isn't just a ‘rubber butt,’ Putin tells schoolchildren
President Vladimir Putin employed a rather creative turn of phrase when discussing the secret of success on Thursday. Speaking to schoolchildren in Kaliningrad at a conference titled ‘A talk about important things,’ Putin told his audience, ‘Diligence is a separate talent. It is not just, excuse me, a rubber butt. It’s a talent for making yourself work and being able to do it productively, organising what you do in the right way.’
Presumably the president was referring to a ‘rubber butt’ in the context of a cap on the end of something, rather than its more disturbing anatomical interpretation.
