Hector’s Road Safety Song - The version that tries to cover all the bases, beyond just bolting across the road without looking.

The improved and meddled with versions - though they were technically correct, they also fucked it all right up.... These block headed fuckwits ruined it. The feminists just ruin everything.

This is or was the last of the improved versions... It's fucked.

Chorus 1:

When we cross the road, what would Hector say?
Stop, Look, Listen, Think.
When we cross the road, we do it Hector’s way.
Stop, Look, Listen, Think.

Verse 1:

When we cross the road – hold someone’s hand
Walk straight across the road – don’t run!
When we cross the road – hold someone’s hand
And walk straight across the road.

Chorus 1:

When we cross the road, what would Hector say?
Stop, Look, Listen, Think.
When we cross the road, we do it Hector’s way.
Stop, Look, Listen, Think.

Chorus 2:

When you’re in the car, what would Hector say?
Click, clack, front and back.
When you’re in the car do it Hector’s way.
Click, clack, front and back.

Verse 2:

When you’re travellin’ near or you’re travellin’ far
Put your seatbelt on when you’re in the car.
When you’re travellin’ near or you’re travellin’ far
Put your seatbelt on.

Chorus 2:

When you’re in the car, what would Hector say?
Click, clack, front and back.
When you’re in the car do it Hector’s way.
Click, clack, front and back.

Chorus 3:

When you ride your bike, what would Hector say?
Make it fit; make it click
When you ride your bike do it Hectors way.
Make it fit; make it click.

Verse 3:

Riding your bike is lots of fun
Always remember, put your helmet on
Riding your bike is lots of fun
With your helmet on.

Chorus 3:

When you ride your bike, what would Hector say?
Make it fit; make it click
When you ride your bike do it Hectors way.
Make it fit; make it click.

In the first part they didn't look behind to see if anyone was turning Left at the crossroads? Maybe if they stood in the center of the Crossroads Satan would appear and protect them? Don't know what I mean? check out the Devil and crossroads, and Robert Johnson. I used to be a member of the "Tinger and Tucker" Club as well! lol!

Your right..... BUT this was a simple jolly song to get children, who had limited spatial awareness, to stop at the kerb, to look to the right, to look to the left and to look to the right again, and then if the road is clear of traffic, to walk straight across the road, don't run, walk straight across the road, don't run". It was run reasonably frequently like once ever 10th add break or something. AND the hi IQ busy bodies just had to get in there and make revisions and counter all reasonable omissions by including all the scenarios... Most kids - tend to run across the road from between parked cars and get hit and killed... The simplicity of this master stroke of advertising is pure genius....
