The thing that made Stargate great was it was contemporary with us and our society today but it captured the spirit of the Renaissance when Europeans were eagerly exploring ruins and old houses or edifices searching for Roman technology and literature. The rediscovery of the "Ancients." I like Stargate Atlantis and watched Universe and did enjoy tjheir course correct.
