I used to rebuild these things... HUGE - it's when your up close and pulling them into bits and servicing them and then putting them back together again, and when you see how BIG and HOW HEAVY and HOW SOLID all the parts are - if you get in the way of these - like people who cue across level crossings or try to beat the train etc., if your hit by one of these - your fucked.
There is also the issue of mass and inertia - like for almost all road going man made objects, with people in them, the loco's alone are like GIANT 200 ton hammers... But then there is a few thousand ton of rolling stock following along behind them....
Was this filmed in Canada? I'm sure I spotted a couple of Class 66's on that assembly line . Most of the UK Freight is pulled by them, what a great loco they are as well.
There is the GM - General Motors and then there is the Electro Motive Division - possibly TWO different business's or one is owned by the other etc... Probably best to ask the manufacturer, as they are so big, so expensive and made for different countries, tracks, tunnels, and so many companies etc., etc., that there are enormous amounts of variants. The obsessive and compulsive rail fans like to make lists - and the lists appear to be very extensive and they note most of the particulars and variants etc.
It's like I am not stupid but I don't have infinite capacity for infinite amounts of infinitely long lists, about infinite amounts of issues and objects etc...
I thought a "WAG" was a Football term for "Wife and Girlfriend! lol! I see the unit's are finished in primer white? that would be a good idea to keep them like that then dumb trucker's wont try to cross the rails because they can see it coming! i noticed it was ALL Guy's building these Loco's and the best women could offer was narrating it without a clue WTF she was talking about! lol! she probably knew what a "WAG" was because she probably is one!
On a less frivolous level I fucking love engineering and Railways especially.
