At least you didn't degrade into a "White Knight". You knew something wasn't quite right. I was bullied in catholic school, by girls, bc my mother wouldn't let me defend myself. Once I was old enough to get away from that gynocentric mindset, I joined the military (Marines), learning about life on MY terms instead of hers. My sister tried to bully me when we were teens, and I let her have it across her forehead. Watching her tumble over a couple of dining room chairs was like a weight lifted off my shoulders. She never messed with me again, and we're friends to this day.
