But you can find it in The Foreign Emoluments Clause is a provision in Article I, Section 9, Clause 8 of the United States Constitution that prohibits the federal government from granting titles of nobility and restricts members of the federal government from receiving gifts, emoluments, offices, or titles from foreign states and monarchies without the consent of the United States Congress.1 The clause generally prohibits federal officeholders from receiving any gift, payment, or other thing of value from a foreign state or its rulers, officers, or representatives.2 The clause also provides that Congress has the power to set up a system of copyrights and patents, granting creative people the exclusive right to sell their creations.
