Super Soakers at the ready! Revelers in Bangkok have been celebrating Songkran - a three-day holiday marking Buddhist New Year - making sure they stay properly hydrated while doing so. Water guns, hoses and buckets were the weapons of choice for the annual water fight, making a welcome return after the pandemic. Tourists and locals alike took part, with no one spared.
Given that Songkran typically coincides with Thailand’s hottest time of the year, it’s no surprise this particular festival is celebrated with such gusto.
