Do not confuse Hypergamy with child abuse.
Sexual abuse survivors will sell their bodies for money because they were taught their only value was as sex object. Survivors refuse to develop personal relationships because relationships are connected to painful memories. Lastly, survivors will use mind altering drugs to escape from the pain.

The spirit of Hypergamy is "why should I settle?" If relationships are too difficult or painful, and there is an alternative that gives better reward with less effort then the women will choose that option.

The fear of hell is what keeps most people in check (it used to atleast), if that doesnt work, then fear of being burned in the material world today will stop them, at one time there were so many witches being burned in dutch villages that they ran out of women, people claim they just went insane, i beg to differ, most men would willingly volunteer to die rather than burn their women so there must be very very very compelling reasons for that to happen.
