Not sure of the scene... but sometimes community centers, public libraries, internet hot spots, hotel lobbies etc., CAN be an option.

This is a USEFUL app that I co-developed.

This is the simple to the point signal strength app.

Our wired internet is a helluva lost faster than wireless. Probably not an option for Amr, just saying.

@csehszlovakze: The software is good. Like here there are places between towns and you can see when you drop into depressions, by only a few meters, that drop you out of line of sight from the towers and how the signal vanishes... So yeah the APP is good, AND maybe not right here, right now, in the coffee shop, but a few blocks up the street - it might be way better. Information is always an option.

@Life_N_Times_of_Shane_T_Hanson: I live here. Wired internet is a lot faster than wifi, and that's also faster than 3G/4G. It wasn't a comment on your app.

@csehszlovakze: Yeah - I didn't take it as a slur, it was the issue of finding a plug in hard wired connection when your on the road - that is ONE issue - and it can be a real pain in the arse to do this. However with this app on your phone, you can FIND good locations to at least get a reasonable signal, not only "right here / right now" but when travelling.... The app will show you this, AND it will show the connection speed. You have to move out of this all or nothing perspective.

@csehszlovakze: See sometimes the SINGLE issue, isn't the issue, it's all the other matters that "create the issue", I know that when I have travelled to the big city, getting ACCESS to even a basic computer, with a printer and network and access to the ports to load things up from a USB stick and to get internet connectivity - be it at colleges or libraries etc., or internet cafes - it's a FUCKING NIGHTMARE. Depending upon your gear and $$$$ You get all your heavy lifting done on a big box computer, with the big screen AND take the shit cheap basic netbook for work that requires little brains - and then tether than through your phone - because there are so many cunts on the Wi-Fi hot spots...

@Life_N_Times_of_Shane_T_Hanson: AND sure the hard wired connections ARE way fast, BUT you have to get a LIVE connection AND this comes with lots of fucking around when jumping frequently from address to address - like you MIGHT and probably DO have to get the connection switched on, and that takes time AND there are costs, and then your only there for 2 days.... Fuck me...... IF you have the app to tell you where the cellular networks are really strong, rather then not knowing, then this is a HUGE help - between tethered networking at a decent speed and a death crawl speed.... You know - what you say about the hard wired networks AND using them, it's NOT that simple or easy, when ALL the other issues are taken into consideration. SOMETIMES a simple phone app, with a big dial on it = signal strength, is the best option, so you can find where the towers are and what times the traffic is heavy and light.

Ahhhh Haaaaa Haaaaaa - Same shoe. Different Foot.

The internet here is totally shit too. Jump in the car and drive a couple of K's closer to the tower = Full signal.

Now about the network congestion.....

Ahem.
