I guess when your in a "go no where relationship" that has just stagnated, and that aside from fucking you don't have much in common and then you have stopped fucking, many people just find that overall it's easier to stay together, considering all the hassles of moving out / separating and getting new places...

But when she in her insatiable drive to perpetually breed when she can't - because of contraception and or age, wants to start straying, or she is just a relationship / sex addict / addicted to the dramas and shit in relationships - by at least formally announching it, there is nothing left there, aside from paying the rent together....

It's a bit like swimming, if what your hanging onto doesn't float, it's because it's an anvil... best to voluntarily let go of it... and leave it behind... otherwise hanging onto it will sink you.
