Irish teacher jailed for refusing to use student's preferred pronouns
Irish schoolteacher Enoch Burke has been jailed after refusing to address a pupil as ‘they,’ saying that his religious resolve prevents him from doing so.
The Wilson's Hospital School, a religious boarding school in Ireland, had put the history and German teacher on paid suspension, but Burke refused to stay away from the premises, leading then to his arrest. The attitude towards the treatment of the teacher has caused public outcry.
