Jesus Made Me A Feminist | Tara Teng XD
Tara takes a look at Christianity, the biggest religion in the world, and discusses how we, regardless of our religious background or beliefs, can look to the nature of Jesus Christ in the Bible to reposition the way we think about women. She suggests that similar to the way certain Christian groups position women, contemporary society should revisit and reevaluate the way women are viewed and treated, and work collectively toward gender equality.
Tara Teng is a TV host, Miss World Canada 2012, and a human rights activist. She was named Canada’s “Woman of the Year” in 2011, the Globe and Mail’s “Top 25 Most Transformational Canadians,” and received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal in recognition of her vast human rights work. Her advocacy has helped to pass new laws in Canada that protect victims of human trafficking, and she established Canada’s first Municipal Action Plan to Combat Human Trafficking.
