The latest TikTok trend sees ‘influencers’ renting a boat and then jumping backwards off it head-first while it’s going at 40 knots. It’s even been used as part of several boat companies’ advertising strategy. What could go wrong?
So far, four people have died attempting to win fake internet points performing the stunt, according to Alabama officials. These four people had to be fished out of the water after breaking their necks, said Captain Jim Dennis of the Childersburg Rescue Squad.
