Mass looting spree rocks Philadelphia
The City of Brotherly Love turned into the city of brotherly theft after hundreds of young people decided on going on a mass looting spree. Philadelphia police responded to reports of widespread looting in the Center City area, with popular stores like the Apple Store, Lululemon, and Footlocker being targeted by swarms of looters. Videos on social media showed the aftermath of the looting, with broken windows, bare shelves, and unsuccessfully stolen items scattered in the remains of the stores.
At least 15 to 20 people have been arrested, and authorities recovered two firearms. Some stolen Apple products were left behind thanks to anti-theft technology rendering them useless once removed from the store. More than 100 juveniles were involved in looting a Lululemon store, but no immediate injuries were reported.
