Nigerian official ‘faints’ to seemingly avoid questions
A video from 2020 has unexpectedly gone viral years after the event, showing a Nigerian official appearing to faint during a hearing. Kemebradikumo Pondei was the acting director of the Niger Delta Development Commission at the time, and the fainting took place as he was answering questions by the House Committee on NDDC over alleged misappropriation of funds.
Now the video has sparked a furious online debate over whether the 'fainting' episode was real or faked. Many are convinced Pondei was attempting to avoid a particularly troublesome line of questioning, like a child trying to get out of phys ed by pretending to have leprosy or something. Pondei denied that he had faked the incident, and said that he had suffered from an ‘unexpected health challenge’.
