North Korea unveils new drones as Kim meets Russia’s Shoigu

North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un welcomed Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu today during his visit to Pyongyang. Kim took Shoigu on a tour of ‘Weaponry Exhibition 2023,’ showing off several never-before-seen large attack and reconnaissance drones, one of which appears to bear similarity to the US-made RQ-4 Global Hawk. Shoigu was also given a tour of several ballistic missiles and their launchers. The exhibition was being held for the ‘Victorious Fatherland Liberation War 70th Anniversary,’ the North Korean term for the Korean War, which ended on this day in 1953.

According to North Korea’s Central News Agency, the two later sat down where ‘Kim Jong Un shared with Sergei Shoigu comments on the worldwide trend of weaponry development and its strategy.’
