@SoloMan Zone: Not sure (possibly an occasional drinker), but he did a commercial saying it was one of his favorite roles (The Loveable Lush), even recorded an album by that title back in '70). I read that he made a $10 bet with a friend back in '64 that he couldn't stop drinking. He later said he hadn't had a drink since, and took that bet bc at the time, he need the money.
