New Zealand has reclaimed the world record for the largest Haka performance at Auckland's Eden Park, surpassing France’s previous record. In other news, apparently someone other than New Zealand used to hold the record. A total of 6,531 participants performed the Haka Ka Mate, breaking the 2014 record of 4,028 people held by France.

The event, which included both Maori and non-Maori participants, was confirmed by a Guinness World Records adjudicator, pending final review. The Haka, a traditional Maori dance, holds cultural significance and is commonly performed for social and ceremonial occasions, or whenever anyone wants to do something to show they remember New Zealand is actually a place.
